Bardia was created in 2011 from the southern portion of Edmondson Park. It comprises all the area east of Denham Court, south of Campbelltown Road, and north and west of the Hume Highway.  Bardia was named in honour of the successful taking of Bardia in North Africa during World War II and means magnificent or high in status.

Bardia, situated at the northern tip of the south-west Growth corridor, is 46 km from Sydney CBD, 10 km from Liverpool and 14 km from Campbelltown. Bardia is a suburb within the Campbelltown Local Government Area.

 The main features of Bardia are:

  1. New Breeze at Bardia, a 1,280 dwelling community consisting of land, and homes being developed by Dahua. It is one of the most desirable and fastest selling developments in South West Sydney.
  1. Bardia Public School, soon to be redeveloped to be the fifth largest public school in New South Wales catering for over 1,200 students.
  1. Edmondson Park Railway Station is one of the newest additions to the south-west train line is operation connecting Edmondson Park to rest of Sydney.
  1. Edmondson Park Town Centre developed by Frasers will comprise of 450,000sqm of retail/commercial floor space and 900 dwellings including apartments, townhouses and terraces.
  1. The Meadows at Bardia, another new housing development by Monarch comprising mainly of duplex and triplex type dwellings.
